Captain Marvel is going to be an interesting entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will be the first one from Marvel Studios featuring a solo female superhero as the lead in Carol Danvers. While we still have a long time to wait for the film as it does not release until 2018, Marvel Studios has already set a pair of screenwriters to develop the screenplay. Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve will be writing the screenplay for the film. Perlman has worked with Marvel before being a co-writer on the screenplay of Guardians of the Galaxy. Meanwhile, LeFauve was a co-writer on the screenplay of the upcoming Pixar film Inside Out.
This is definitely an exciting pair of writers Marvel has selected to develop Captain Marvel. It is also interesting because Guardians of the Galaxy had a really fun, comedic vibe to it, and from the trailers Inside Out looks like it will have a major comedic vibe to it as well. So, does this mean Marvel is going for a more comedic tone with Captain Marvel. The positioning of the film within the shared universe is also interesting because it will open inbetween the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War. No director or casting has been announced yet. Nevertheless, the announcement of these writers will certainly raise the excitement for the upcoming Marvel film,
Captain Marvel is set to be released in North America on November 2, 2018.
