Trailer Talk #3 - 'Tomorrowland'

The new trailer for Tomorrowland is very action-packed compared to previous trailers for the film. This trailer takes an interesting approach focusing on one particular action sequence. This sequence is truly incredible with the sheer inventiveness behind it. It will have your eyes glued to the screen with the distinct amount of intensity it conveys. This trailer will be successful at peaking the interest of viewers who may only have been mildly curious before.

“From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s ‘Tomorrowland,’ a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as ‘Tomorrowland.’ What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.”

While this trailer may seem a bit spoilery for this certain sequence, the trailers have done a good job hiding most of the story. We barely had a good look at any of the other characters in the film, and really have no idea what happens once the lead characters played by George Clooney and Britt Robertson reach Tomorrowland. The mystery behind the plot adds a certain sense of excitement to the film. From the trailers Clooney and Robertson seem to make for entertaining and compelling characters. They are both really great in the chase sequence from this trailer.

Brad Bird is quickly proving to be a director audiences should be looking out for. While his resume may be small for now, his work has been impressive. His animated films like The Iron Giant and The Incredibles have gone on to become classics. Even Ratatouille was another excellent animated film from the director. He moved on to do his first film in live-action with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and knocked it out of the park delivering an entertaining spy action film that was one of the best entries in the series. With Tomorrowland, Bird seems to be delivering an exciting sci-fi adventure that will inspire the imagination of audiences. Bird seems like someone who will make a huge impact on audiences with his films. From the trailers, Tomorrowland looks like another wonderful film from the director.

Tomorrowland is set to be released in North America on May 22, 2015.
